MANILA – Ark Angel, an all-Filipino pro team, bowed out of the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup last Sunday.
After a blazing tilt throughout the MSC 2019, ArkAngel lost to Indonesian squad Louvre Esports at the score of 2-0. This ending their campaign in the prestigious e-sports championship held in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The results brought ArkAngel to third place. Taking home a cash prize amounting to over $15,000 USD (around P780,000).
Can’t fly high enough, ArkAngel’s wings folded the second time they fought against Louvre Esports in the lower bracket Finals.
ArkAngel was hot in the early minutes of Game 1 but Louvre Esports turned the cards and came from behind claiming first blood. The Pinoy squad noticeably lost momentum after several pauses and technical difficulties marred the game.
On the second game, Louvre then took over as ArkAngel melted out its wings in the second game to sweep the series.
The Pinoy team, Ark Angel, had already lost against Louvre in the upper bracket playoffs that was held Saturday.
Manila hosted the tourney for the first time in franchise history. The homecourt advantage was not enough as Ark Angel suffered the same fate as Bren Esports.
Two Indonesian squads, Onic Esports and Lourvre Esports, ended up in the Finals. Eventually, ONIC claimed the MSC 2019 championship while Louvre placed second.
