Earlier yesterday, OG announced that they are not going to play and qualify for the 2nd Major of the DPC season. They have also revealed a cryptic video that sparks a lot of speculation regarding what exactly this meant.
The Dota 2 community started to wonder what’s going to happen with OG. Some even suggesting that this was a teaser for OG’s upcoming CS:GO team. However, that was all clarified when the organization revealed its secondary Dota 2 team.
OG also released another video with more information about their next move. This video made clear that OG will not be attending the DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major and explains the reasons leading up to this decision. The video also reveals OG’s second squad named ‘OG Seed’ which consists of several talented players.
The new roster will feature:
- Omar “Madara” Dabachach
- Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin
- Andreas “Xibbe” Ragnemalm
- Zakari “ZFreek” Freedman
- Petu “Peksu” Vaatainen
This OG Seed journey comes with great expectations for us at OG. Being able to go back in time, alongside up and coming players, is simply amazing. I know this is going to be a win-win situation for everyone involved. We will share experience, maturity and knowledge, while they will feed us with their immense motivation, their drive and passion. We intend to give them the best we can offer and help them achieve their dreams just like we achieved ours. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the ride as much as we will. Cheers OGs, love yaCeb
The new OG Seed will be coached by no other than the back to back champs. OG also noted that there will be no performance objectives, they only require players to:
- Strive for excellence,
- Show confidence & trust in OG, themselves, and their teammates,
- Enjoyable DotA for them (and for us if possible!)
