World-renowned streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek is the latest to switch from Twitch’s streaming platform to Microsoft’s Mixer, where he will be broadcasting exclusively.
Shroud made his announcement on twitter simply saying he’s “making moves.” According to him, this is “a deal that was best for him.”
Shroud’s last Twitch stream was three days ago. According to the statistics on his channel, he amassed over seven million followers and over 27,000 subscribers.
No details were disclosed about Shroud’s new deal with mixer. All viewers who follow them on mixer can enjoy a free month-long subscription to Shroud’s channel as long as they have a Mixer account.
Tyler “Ninja” Blevins’ move to mixer has caused a tremendous ripple effect in the streaming community. More and more video game streamers are now being offered exclusivity deals by competing platforms.
While Mixer is still far from going neck and neck with Twitch when it comes to viewership and popularity, their strategy of locking up popular personalities to stream exclusively on their platform is gaining steam.
